Frequently Asked Questions

Between 4 weeks and 6 months. The program is designed (both the course and in consultation) to help your child's skin using nutrition, supplementation and avoiding specific environmental and dietary triggers. This approach can take from 4 weeks to 6 months to see significant changes, depending on the severity of the eczema. Slow and steady wins the race! There are no quick fixes when it comes to improving eczema.

The 80/20 rule is applicable here. If you follow the program 100% you are most likely going to see significant improvements. If you only follow 80% you will still see some improvements. If you follow less strictly then you may still receive some benefits but you can't expect to see profound changes in the skin. If your child refuses to eat the foods suggested you will struggle to receive those benefits so in these cases I suggest booking in a naturopathic consultation for more specific guidance.

Though there are some dietary restrictions this program is designed specifically for busy parents who need simple lifestyle solutions for their family. Though it is encouraged to prepare meals at home with fresh ingredients, there are quick solutions suggested also which can be store bought or pre-made.

Never come off medicated creams "cold-turkey". The suggested process is to first embark on the Skin Healing Program to strengthen the skin first. Once you see significant improvements in the skin under the guidance of a health professional (Dermatologist or Naturopath) you can start the weaning off process, to avoid symptoms of steroid withdrawal.

If your child has had a flare up, follow the guidance in "Managing Flare-ups" in the course curriculum until you feel the symptoms have improved. You can also book a consult for help with this. It is expected that in time you will have fewer flare ups with either/or less intensity once fully on the program.
